PowerPoint tips 11: opening 07/10 format presentations (.pptx) in Powerpoint 03
"Powerpoint cannot open this type of file"
If you're still using Powerpoint 2003 (and lots of big organisations still are - it was a good program and sold by the shed-load) you're likely to have come across this.
It's caused by a big change in the file formats when 2007 was released, hence the change in the file extension from .ppt to .pptx
To make life a little easier, Microsoft issued a downloadable compatibility pack for Office 2003, to make it possible to open documents with the .pptx extension.
If you're on Powerpoint 2003, you really really need this.
